It was an incredible privilege to celebrate two people as special, rare, kind and so cute as my grandparents, Edward and Marlene, spending 60 years together. And after 60 years, that definitely calls for a celebration.
Planning this special event with my grandma was so much fun, especially getting to really hear and help share their love story, the when, where and how it all began 60 years ago. Edward + Marlene were married on December 25, 1956, yes, they had a Christmas winter wedding, which any winter wedding you know is hands down stunning! My Grandma even saved pieces of her purple velour dress and pink hair piece she wore on her wedding day, which were displayed on the table along with photos. Right next to the photo of the very handsome and charming Ed in his early days when he was in the Navy.
The color palette consisted of blush, marsala, white, gold and lush greenery with seeded eucalptus, olive branches, pines and mix n' match brass/gold candle sticks and vases. This was held in the church hall and I just so happen to see one of the old pew benches that was just sitting there looking lonely, so why not add this vintage pew bench for seating that tied in so quaint and beautiful?!
Thank you so much Grandma + Grandpa for letting me be a part of planning your special day! Cheers to you! xoxo
