There really is something ultra romantic about an Autumn wedding, when the brisk air makes it's debut and the leaves turn golden as they begin to fall. Sophie and Spencer knew they wanted their wedding to be during this incredible time of year and also chose the groom’s parent’s exact same wedding date for theirs! With a color palette of blues and grays, wildflowers, cowboy boots, and an insanely gorgeous barn wedding venue at Huser Farm, located outside of Green Lake in the beautiful countryside, Sophie and Spencer’s Wisconsin farm wedding was pure perfection. It was an honor to be a part of their celebration and just icing on the cake to be entrusted as their wedding planner and florist, assuring everything ran seamlessly day of. So grab a hot toddy on this blizzardy winter day and browse this gallery below, captured by Dan Klapper Photography.
Sophie and Spencer’s love affair all began with a little ol’ dating app called Tinder. Yup, that’s right, they swiped right into their happily ever after. With their love for hunting, the outdoors and more, Spencer proposed to Sophie while they were bear hunting, sitting out in their stand. It was only fitting when they set out planning their wedding, to have a farm wedding - and when we toured Huser Farm, they knew instantly that was their dream place to host their country wedding.
Sophie had her heart set on incorporating sunflowers and other freshly picked, in-season wildflowers for her bouquets. On Friday, the day before the wedding, I picked an array of golden rods, rough blazingstar, hydrangeas, and sunflowers and pieced together bouquets, with every other bridesmaid carrying a different color with their pretty navy blue dresses. I also curated boutonnieres and several bud vases of more pretty wildflowers for the cocktail hour that sat atop whiskey barrels in the restored milking parlor of the barn at Huser Farm.
Once a milking parlor, the lower part of the barn pictured here has been restored, where Sophie & Spencer hosted their cocktail hour. Brimming of charming character with weathered white wood, stone and brick walls was adorned with seasonal potted plants, pumpkins and flowers.

For the outdoor ceremony design, I used hydrangeas for an accent piece on the left side of the birch arch and lined the aisle with wooden boxes and vintage watering cans filled with more hydrangea blooms. The insanely beautiful birch arch - that my lovelies - was custom built by the groom, Spencer and the bride’s father, Nathan. This was a beautiful idea Sophie and Spencer thought of, custom building decor pieces for their farm wedding to use long after the wedding for their dreamy forever home they are in the process of building.
For the barn reception, we used a mix of long and round tables with white linens, white chairs, centerpieces of wildflowers atop wood slices, deer antlers and whiskey bottles custom made and/or collected by the couple and the bride’s parents. Huser Farm provided sweeping drapery, lanterns and cafe lighting that helped curate a magical ambience.
Sophie and Spencer chose a tasty menu of their favorite foods from J’s BBQ, with brisket, pulled pork, chicken, mac n’ cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, pretzels, brioche, wheat rolls and chips n’ salsa. In lieu of a cake, they also had a dessert station filled with cheesecakes, cupcakes, and cake pops. They also had a self-serve margartia station with lime and strawberry flavors to offer their guests.
